提示: what when/where who how why what is it used for? The influence and its development
My favourite invention
The mobile phone is my favourite invention. The first mobile phone was invented for US Army in 1938 in America. Until 1973, Mr. Cooper invented the first mobile phone for civil use. Since then, the world has been changed because of the useful invention.
As we all know, mobile phones are being more and more widely used in our daily life. They are used in many ways.
First they offer fast and convenient service for communication. And they are becoming smaller and lighter. It is quite easy for us to carry them everywhere. They can also be used for sending short messages. What’s more, we can surf the internet on mobile phones. That helps us open up our eyes to the outside world.
There is no doubt that the mobile phone plays an important part in our daily life.
Unit 7 你父母平时对你在学习生活上有什么规定?请你以 “my family rules”为题,写一篇100字左右的短文介绍一下你的家规并表达你的看法,家规至少三条。”
My family rules
There are many rules in my family/
I like some rules because they are helpful. For example, I have to clean my bedroom every day. I think it is a good rule. On the one hand, we should be educated to take care of ourselves from a very young age. On the other hand, it is comfortable and relaxing for us to sleep in a clean bedroom. Besides, helping mother do chores can make her happy.
However, there are some terrible rules that make me unhappy. One of them is that I can’t have my own hobbies. In my opinion, parents should support their children’s dreams. That’s because dreams can make children work hard and full of energy. What’s more, I am not allowed to watch TV before finishing my homework on weekdays. I think parents should allow us to watch TV for a while when we get home. This can help relax ourselves and it is also easier for us to pay attention to our homework.
All in all, my parents make these rules to help me better, but some of my family rules are too strict. I think they should be changed.
Unit 10

You must be excited about coming to China soon. It is helpful to learn as many of the customs as possible. These basic manners will help you enjoy staying in China.
First of all, when you meet the Chinese people for the first time, you are supposed to shake hands. It is polite to smile and say hello to them. And it is rude to leave without saying goodbye. You are expected to bring a small gift if you visit your friend for the first time.
Then, it is helpful to learn as many of the table manners as possible. It is polite to wait till
everyone is at the table. And you are not supposed to use your chopsticks to hit an empty bowl. You shouldn’t stick the chopsticks into the food. It is very impolite to point at others with your chopsticks. It is also rude to speak with your mouth full of food.
When you come to China, you’d better remember the famous saying,” When in Rome, do as Romans do.”
Best wishes.
Yours
